The Nation’s Triathlon and AT&T announced today that AT&T will be its Exclusive Wireless Sponsor. As part of the sponsorship, AT&T will sponsor and award the DC Cup, to be given to the fastest male and female finishers from Washington, DC.
“AT&T is pleased to be a first time sponsor of the DC Cup,” said Rob Forsyth, vice president and general manager for AT&T in the greater Washington/Baltimore area. “Even as competitors from across the country crisscross the city swimming, biking and running at super-human speeds to finish the Nation’s Triathlon, AT&T works each day to cover this region so customers can talk, text, surf and socialize at similarly blazing speeds.”
The 6th Annual Nation’s Triathlon To Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will take place Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC. It features a course that winds through Washington, DC’s monument corridor in the shadow of the nation’s best known memorials and national treasures.
“The Nation’s Triathlon set a Guinness World Record in 2010 for largest international distance triathlon event in the nation,” noted Molly Quinn, race organizer. “Now, America’s most popular triathlon event is proud to welcome AT&T as a sponsor of our race to help us keep friends, family and loved ones connected.”
At the finish line, competitors will be able to go to the AT&T-Samsung Communications Station where they can call friends and family, send photos and let others know about their race results.
“The Nation’s Triathlon is my favorite race and I love competing every year because it’s a great opportunity to see Washington, DC from a unique vantage point – swimming, biking and running past some of our greatest monuments and national treasures. With all the fast, young triathletes in the area, I look forward to the challenge of competing again for the title of fastest DC female,” noted DC resident Hilary Cairns, four-time winner of the DC Cup.
