BigBand Networks has announced that it has hired Sean Rooney as senior vice president of worldwide sales. Rooney will report to David W. Heard, chief operating officer and oversee BigBand’s global sales organization and functions across all major accounts.
Rooney has more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development, marketing and product management with large multi-national, small and start-up companies in the broadband industry. He was a senior executive of sales at Motorola before joining BigBand, building and integrating the on demand systems group following its acquisition of Broadbus Technologies. At Broadbus, Mr. Rooney built and managed the worldwide sales and service organization, managing global accounts such as Comcast, Time Warner, Charter, UPC, Rogers, Telenet, and BSkyB.
David W. Heard, Chief Operating Officer of BigBand Networks said, “Sean is a seasoned sales executive with a proven track record in strategic sales development and management.
