Cinemax Will Go All HD On September 1

HBO has announced that Cinemax will become the first and only 24 hour HD channel from September 1, 2008. Apart from broadcasting programming in HD Cinemax’s hit movies and award-winning documentaries will also be in high-definition. Cinemax is standard definition will also be available with its movies as usual. Cinemax HD will broadcast movies The Bourne Ultimatum, Rendition, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford in high-definition.

“As the No. 1 movie service, Cinemax subscribers have come to expect a picture of the highest quality. We are thrilled to be the leader among premium channels in offering a 100 percent HD channel.” said Dave Baldwin, executive vice-president of program planning for HBO and Cinemax.
