Clearwire Communications, Comcast and Sprint have announced their plans to launch 4G mobile Internet services in moremarkets in the fourth quarter of 2009. Each of these companies will launch 4G under their own 4G brand.
CLEAR
Clearwire’s 4G service is branded CLEAR that offers super fast mobile Internet service that works as fast on the go as it does at home. Customers will initially be able to purchase service online at www.clear.com, followed by retail store and dealer openings in the weeks to follow.
Sprint 4G
Sprint’s 4G service is branded Sprint 4G and Sprint 3G/4G dual mode products available today combine Sprint 3G – the most dependable 3G network in the U.S. with Sprint 4G, turbo-charged wireless connectivity faster than today’s 3G. With Sprint 4G, streaming video, fast file downloads and uploads and turbo-charged web browsing are no longer time consuming.
Clearwire 4G Markets in 2009
4G service is coming to several markets around the country, and services will be offered by Clearwire and Sprint in each market as well as Comcast in select markets. By the end of 2009, 4G service is expected to be available in more than 25 markets covering over 30 million people in places such as: Atlanta and Milledgeville, GA; Baltimore; Boise; Chicago; Las Vegas; Philadelphia; Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro, NC; Honolulu and Maui, HI; Seattle and Bellingham, Wash; Portland and Salem, Ore; and Dallas/Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Austin, Abilene, Amarillo, Corpus Christi, Killeen/Temple, Lubbock, Midland/Odessa, Waco and Wichita Falls, Texas.
Comcast High-Speed 2Go
Comcast’s 4G service is branded Comcast High-Speed 2go and sold as part of a Fast Pack that bundles the nation’s fastest in-home wired Internet with the nation’s fastest wireless Internet.
