DirecTV has added local HD programming in many markets during August, which include Augusta, Chattanooga, and Lincoln. Now, DirecTV has added local high-definition programming in Richmond, Petersburg, Virginia area covering local HD broadcast channels in 91 cities. DirecTV will also end up the year by adding more than 30 HD local channel markets. The satcaster has added following broadcast networks are available in HD:
WRIC/ABC
WTVR/CBS
WRLH/FOX and
WWBT/NBC
DirecTV is the industry leader in the delivery of HD and now offers more than 130 HD channels and also will provide local HD broadcast channels in 121 cities, representing more than 88 percent of U.S. TV households. DirecTV subscribers must have an H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish to receive DirecTV’s local HD programming.
