DirecTV Adds Local HD Programming in the Myrtle Beach-Florence

DirecTV has announced the launch of local high-definition programming to subscribers in Myrtle Beach/Florence, South Carolina market area. With the launch of these local HD broadcast channels, the satcaster is offering local HD in 94 cities, which represents nearly 82 percent of U.S television households. Following are the broadcast networks available in high-definition:
WPDE/ABC
WBTW/CBS
WMBF/NBC
WWMB/CW and
WFXB/FOX
DirecTV added local HD broadcast in Syracuse, N.Y., South Bend-Elkhart, Ind., Mobile, Ala.-Pensacola, Fla., Richmond-Petersburg, Va., Toledo and Youngstown, Ohio lastweek and the satcaster in its expansion of HD programming will add 27 more HD local channel markets by the end of 2008. DirecTV subscribers must have an H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish to receive DIRECTV’s local HD programming.
