DirecTV Launches Local HD Programming in the La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Cable operators like Time Warner and Comcast are adding national high-definition channels in many cities but the leading satellite provider in the country, DirecTV has been adding local HD channels in many cities. Many customers think that the satcaster has any bandwidth constraint in adding most important HD channels which others are offering. DirecTV now has added local HD in the La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisconsin market area starting Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008. Following are the local HD channels added :

WXOW/ABC

WKBT/CBS

WEAU/NBC and

WLAX/FOX

DirecTV subscribers need to have H20 or H21 HD receiver or an HR20 or HR21 DIRECTV Plus HD DVR and a Ka/Ku band dish to receive these new local HD channels. The satcaster now offers local HD channels in 115 cities, representing more than 87 percent of U.S. TV households.
