DirecTV will be launching The Sportsman Channel (TSC) in its Choice Xtra programming package in January 2009. The cable network that broadcast only hunting and fishing programming has announced that it has reached a distribution agreement with DirecTV to launch the channel in January. TSC will also launch its high-definition version in later part of 2009.
Derek Chang, executive vice president, Content Strategy and Development, DIRECTV said “The Sportsman Channel and its terrific line-up of branded outdoor programming is a welcome addition to our robust programming lineup, this channel is a must-have for outdoor-enthusiasts and reinforces DIRECTV’s position as the leading provider of outdoor programming to consumers.”
