Matthew Barnaby Joins ESPN as NHL Analyst

Matthew Barnaby will debut as a studio analyst on Wed, Oct. 8 on SportsCenter and will appear on ESPNEWS, ESPN.com and on other ESPN platforms. Matthew Barnaby played for the Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche, Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars has joined ESPN Networks as a studio analyst. Barnaby also served as an analyst and commentator for NHL on TSN, most recently appearing during the 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs, before joining ESPN.

Mark Gross, ESPN senior vice president and managing editor, studio production, added, “Matthew will be a terrific addition to our NHL coverage. Having recently retired from the game, his experience and current perspective of the on-ice action and the strategy behind it will benefit NHL fans.”
