Verizon has announced the launch of 68 new channels including 53 additional high-definition channels to FiOS TV programming line-up in the Fort Wayne area. Subscribers in Fort Wayne area have 98 channels and more than 800 HD choices available at any time. Verizon claims that they offer more high-definition channels than any other cable companies in this area and says that they will continue to offer more HD channels before the end of the year.
The Telco offers its FiOS services to more than 120,000 subscribers in Allen County, including portions of Fort Wayne, Huntertown and New Haven.
FiOS TV customers now receive 98 high-definition channels which include:
ABC Family HD
Animal Planet HD
Disney Channel HD
FX HD
MGM HD
Science Channel HD
Smithsonian Channel HD
Speed HD
TLC HD and
Toon Disney HD
FiOS TV’s Movie Package also offers 12 new HD channels from HBO and nine from Cinemax in HD, 13 new HD channels from The Movie Channel, Starz and Showtime, including The Movie Channel Xtra, Starz Edge, Starz Comedy, Starz Kids and Family, Showtime, Showtime Showcase, Showtime Extreme and Showtime 2.

Kathy Koelle, vice president of marketing and sales for Verizon’s South/West region said “FiOS TV is the only service to consider if you want the ultimate HD experience, with our increased number of HD channels, along with HD video-on-demand programming and our current HD DVR and premium movie promotion, we’re blowing cable away.”
